hi! we’re glad you stopped by!
That’s us up there, Aimee (loody!) and Loki. I’m the gal, Loki is the cockapoo.
What you’ll find here are moments from our life alongside a collection of simple, feel good, schmaltzy recipes inspired by our maple-syrup-cozy-cabin Vermont lifestyle and my bangerang childhood favorites. I’m a self-taught kitchen mess maker, but I have my grandma to thank for my baking roots and my loody nickname.
So what’s a Loody?
Loody is the nickname that my grandma gave me when I was little (and still calls me…). My grandma and I use to make a royal mess of her kitchen fishing eggshell out of the cookie dough, whirling the Foley Mill at max speed for making raspberry jam and rolling up my favorite pinwheel pie crust cookies. So in short, I’m a Loody.
what kind of recipes will I find here?
FUN RECIPES! I like to bake the type of things I’d want to eat. For the most part, that’ll be a lot of baked desserts, breads and the occasional savory dinner dish. I like to bake things inspired by my local community (currently Vermont!) as well as favorites from my childhood (funfetti friday is a thing in our house!).
Occasionally, I’ll whip up something vegan or have a easy vegan swap for a recipe. But for the most part its butter’n’eggs up in here.
Nothing fancy here, just good food. Cozy things your grandma would make you. And I think that’s the best food there is.
A little bit about the gal and pup…
We currently live in
Boulder, Colorado Burlington, Vermont. I’m from a small town in Upstate New York, but Loki is a Colorado Native. He wanted to get this bumper sticker for his car, but I wouldn’t let him. We recently made the trek back across the ol’ US of A and are loving Vermont so far.
I like yoga, running, shredding pow, baking (duh), traveling, reading, hiking, and camping. Basically all the things you need to like in order to pass your Colorado naturalization test (maybe its the same in Vermont??). Oh and if you have a dog, their leash MUST be made out of recycled climbing rope and a carabiner.
Loki likes long hikes off his climbing rope leash, chasing pinecones, swimming, sweet potatoes, stealing my pillow, and cuddling. Loki also goes by the monikers Mr. Teeps, Bompy and Loki Bear. So be prepared to see all those names. Loki is a cockapoo. That’s a cocker spaniel and toy poodle all swirled up into one energetic, needy, endlessly loyal, sweet hearted, too smart for his own good pup. Yes, I am obsessed with him.
You may also see this guy, my better half, from time to time. He’s from Boston, but we don’t hold that against him.
Thanks for stopping by! We hope you enjoy some good eats and reads here.
